New Young Adult Novels

The Mother Daughter Book Club- When the mothers of four sixth-grade girls with very different personalities pressure them into forming a book club, they find, as they read and discuss "Little Women," that they have much more in common than they could have imagined.

Much Ado About Anne -Entering seventh grade at Walden Middle School, four girls continue their mother-daughter book club, reading Lucy Maud Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables," while dealing with a mean, troublemaking classmate.     

Pies and Prejudice- Four girls, and their mothers, continue their mother-daughter book club via videoconference between Massachusetts and England, reading Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," and try to put friendship before romance.  

Dear Pen Pal -Four very different friends in Concord, Massachusetts, and their mothers continue their book club, reading Jean Webster's "Daddy Long-Legs," while getting to know their own pen pals from Wyoming. 

Dragonlight- Three years of strife have passed since Kale and Bardon freed Paladin's knights. Now, fiery dragons scorch their beautiful countryside as an evil husband-and-wife wizard duo battle one another for supremacy. The people of Amara just want to be left alone, hoping the conflict will disappear. But Paladin is dying, and Bardon and Kale--now married--must accept fateful assignments if their land is to survive. Will their efforts turn the tide against their adversaries?

Vampire Diaries - Eighteen-year-old Elena Gilbert's latest battle against the demons that have taken over her hometown of Fell's Church is complicated by the fact that Damon is a mortal since he, his brother Stefan, and Elena returned from the Dark Dimension.     

The Dead-Tossed Waves - Gabry lives a quiet life in a town trapped between a forest and the ocean, hemmed in by the dead who hunger for the living, but her mother Mary's secrets, a cult of religious zealots who worship the dead, and a stranger from the forest who seems to know Gabry threaten to destroy her world.

Ice Shock -Back home in Oxford, Josh tries to resume his normal life and make sense of his Mayan adventures, but soon it becomes clear that he cannot escape destiny as he becomes more certain than ever that his father's death was no accident and his closest allies may not be trustworthy. 

Ghetto Cowboy -Twelve-year-old Cole's behavior causes his mother to drive him from Detroit to Philadelphia to live with a father he has never known, but who soon has Cole involved with a group of African-American "cowboys" who rescue horses and use them to steer youths away from drugs and gangs.
